After updating BIOS, system won't charge non-Dell battery! Roll BIOS back?

Is this a simple case of greed?

A few months ago, I bought a non-Dell extended life battery for my Studio 15, and the laptop worked just fine with it.  It had no trouble at all charging it, reporting its charge level, etc.

Today I noticed that the Dell Support Center on my machine was indicating that there was a newer version of BIOS available than I had installed.  I dutifully updated my BIOS to this newer A09 version.

What a surprise, then, on rebooting, to be stopped with the warning that the battery could not be recognized and would not be able to charge!

Some great new functionality, this!  Do they imagine this is the way to build customer loyalty?

Is there any way to roll my BIOS back to the previous version?
