Canon Digital Camera Software Makes Win Media Player Inoperable + lost mytilus.dll

After installing Canon Digital Camera Solution Disk ver 22.0, Windows Media Player doesn't work. I get the message "this application has failed to start because mytilus.dll was not found". Uninstalling and re-installing both of these programs doesn't help. I even upgraded to MP-10. Now I can't even use System Restore because CiceroUIWnd Frame says mytilus.dll not found. rstrui.exe.
What needs to be done to be able to use System Restore again and to have Win MP working?
