Defects? Inspiron 6400 1680x1050 screen overheat (over 100F) (Normal?)

Received my Inspiron 6400 a few days ago.

I noticed that lower 1/10 of the LCD screen runs pretty HOT. (definitely over 100 F, possibly 120 F).

Anybody has the same problem? Can owners of 6400 test your machines for me?

Thanks very much. I am in touch with Dell's Technical support. They have been trying to tell me how to diagnose the problem... I thought that I might just ask it here.

Is it normal?

I'm running it at 1920x1200 and 120 DPI (125%)
and sometimes when the machine is not on AC power, even when it's just started all the screen goes fuzzy, tones of horz lines and the machine just hangs

on my i6400, 1200x800, the lower part of the screnn also gets pretty hot (there where you can see the "dell" logo).

but so far i didn't see it as a problem.

Thanks. ter11.

We must be experiencing the same problem.

The temperature around the Dell logo and the lower part of the screen is pretty high.

I am concerned. I don't know how long the screen will last consider whatever electronic part in that place could break after being put down such a high temperature.

Maybe we should consider buy the "3 year warrenty"....
