Dell Inspiron 15 3521 Graphics Card

I have just bought an Dell Inspiron 15 3521, which contains the next components:

- CPU: i3-3227U @ 1.90GHz + Intel HD Graphics 4000

- RAM: 4GB @ 1600 frequency

- AMD Radeon HD 8730M.

The laptop came out with Ubuntu 12 and I formatted everything ; after that, I installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1.

Because I haven't received any CD / DVD with its drivers, I downloaded them via Dell Support Website ( choosing my specific category ) and with an Driver Program ; first of all, I installed Intel HD Graphics 4000 and then I reboot the laptop. It worked, good graphic. The last driver that I installed, from dell support ( http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-15-3521 - I choosed Windows 7 x64 ), AMD Radeon HD 8730M which contains this description:

This package provides AMD Radeon HD 8730M Graphics Driver and is supported on Inspiron 3x21 and 5x21 and Vostro 2521 running the following Windows operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows 8.

After I reboot the laptop, when the Desktop came out, the Desktop had a problem: blinked ( flashed ) very fast ; i tried thousands of possibilities ( uninstall it, download it again, uninstall Intel HD Graphics 4000 and first install AMD Radeon HD 8730M and after that reinstall the Intel Graphics Card ; I tried another version of AMD Radeon Driver Graphics and no way ).

What I have to do?

Actually, the problem came from Intel HD Graphics 4000 ; if I install the last driver of this hardware part, it won't work ( I will still have that problem with monitor blinking ) ; but if I install a older version of Intel HD Graphics 4000 and after that I install AMD Radeon 8730M driver, it works ... Why is that?

Hi charqus,

Please check if you have installed the drivers in the order given below after the Operating system installation:

Also flash BIOS from the link below:

Let me know if this helps.  Also provide the screen of the device manager window for further assistance.

Hi charqus,

May I know if you installed the older version Intel driver from Dell support website? Did you flash the BIOS to the latest version as suggested?

If the issue persists even after flashing BIOS, I suggest that you format the HDD and reinstall the Operating system once again. Make sure the drivers are installed the order suggested earlier. Please refer to the following link: http://dell.to/1809bCE

Click on the link below, enter the system service tag and click Submit. Select the Operating system from the drop down list to get drivers for your system model:

Yes, I installed the older version of Intel from Dell FTP Server Support, and now it works.
