Dell Inspiron 15z Touch - When lid is closed, touch screen stays on
When keeping the computer on but closing the lid, the touch screen does not appear to deactivate, picking up heat/keys and triggering touches on the touch screen. This is easily visible if you have touch visible feedback enabled (by default) on mirrored monitor setup.
I've seen other people mention this issue, but no one has mentioned a supported solution besides just deactivating the driver. I bought the 15z with touch because I like jumping between the trackpad/screen when it makes sense so I don't want to loose that entirely.
I'm not sure if this is a dell driver issue or a windows 8 issue.

Hi Scott Markwell ,
I sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience this issue has caused and promise you that I will do my best to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.
You may use the below link and install chipset driver:

In the control panel, under hardware and sound, there's an item called pen and touch. Make sure the touch tab of that window indicates that touch is enabled.
Uninstall/ reinstall touchscreen drivers:
Windows 8 has default touchscreen drivers.
Go to device manager, detect touchscreen drivers (in Human Interface device)
Right click and uninstall it
Then restart the computer.
If this doesn’t work then you may download and install the Hotfix from Microsoft, that fixes issues with touchscreen when Windows 8 fastboot is enabled from the following link:

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.
