Dell Vostro 1500 (Win XP) MediaDirect Issue

I have a potential problem that I would  like help with.

I was doing some house cleaning on my Dell Vostro 1500 and deleted the Media Direct program from the Windows XP Add/Remove program window.  The MediaDirect partition still exists on the hard disk and I don't use the MediaDirect features but I don't  want to experience and MBR problems if the MediaDirect button accidentally gets pressed.

Specifically:

1)  Do I have to reinstall the MediaDirect Software or am I safe leaving the MediaDirect Partition in place but the Media Direct Software uninstalled?

2)  If I need to reinstall the software, do I need to prepare the HD (and re-formating the HD) or can I just install the MediaDirect application as the MediaDirect partition still exists on the HD?

3)  Which version of MediaDirect will work for my Vostro 1500 (Windows XP - SP3)?  How do I obtain the software?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dave
