Dell XPS 15 (9530) Will Not Wake from Mouse or Keyboard input

Hi,

Just had an interesting call with technical support. Although my XPS 15 will wake from sleep and hibernation when I hit the power button, it will not wake from opening the screen, keyboard, or mouse input. Since I use it as a media centre, this can be extremely annoying.

What is interesting is, when I talked to the technical support representative, he told me in no uncertain terms that Dell computers can no longer wake up from external input, you have no choice but to hit the power button to wake the system from sleep. This sounds... suspect to me. Could anyone out there confirm or deny this?
