Dell studio not connecting to visibile wifi connection
Hi, I have a dell studio 1555, for months now i've been connecting to a hotspot outsode my apartment, which is part of a city wide network of hotspots which i pay to access.
Its been working just fine, but as of last week i can no longer connect to it. Its visible in my available connections, and my iphone connects to it just fine.
i've tried rolling back on system updates, even did a complete system restore to factory settings. I can connect to other hotspots such asthe one at work, and can connect to other hotspots which are part of the same system so i know my wireless card is ok. i've updated my wireless network drives (wlan 1397 though there doesn;t seem to be any past 2009). I called the provider and asked them to restart the router which they have done but none of his has worked. i;ve literally sat under the router to make sure its not out of range but it still wont connect, basically i'm now stumped, so any advice would be appreciated

Hi mick1980,
We have done all the steps to fix the WI-FI issue, so please check if there is any interference to the signal like wall, magnetic devices, etc. If there is no interference, I request you to check with the person who handles hotspot to change the channel of the network device. The good channels available are 6, 9 and 11. Even if the channel has any of these please change it to a different channel.

mick1980,
When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.
