Duel Monitor

Hello Everyone,

I have a XPS 1640 Studio, running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Not sure what esle you would need....

Anyway, I also have a Samsung 22 monitor that I wanted to use as dual with my laptop, I plugged the monitor in and when through setting it up as my #2...put then nothing...it just sits there with a black screen....I went through the trouble shooting and it just states that everything is "working properly" I have tested the monitor and know that it is working so I am wondering if I need to activate the monitor port? and if so how do I do this? Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated!
