Every time I reboot, Quickset is not working.
Every day, I have to reinstall the driver for quickset, R265152.exe. Otherwise I don't see the functionality(volume bar, etc).
I think there must be something else on my system interfering with it, but have no idea what that might be. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have an Inspiron N1710, running on windows 7 64 bit.
Thanks.

Refering to my Inspiron 1545 => click START button - type msconfig.exe - press ENTER and make sure Quickset is enabled.

Quickset.exe is located in c:\program files\dell\
What happens if you run it manually?

I pinned a shortcut to my taskbar - that way I can easily change between Function - and Multimedia Key behaviour.I hope that you can activate the Multimedia keys instead of reinstalling all the time.I was goggling for your problem and found a thread with exactly the same problem - but was unanswered.....

When I double click quickset.exe, I get the windows mobility center. Maybe I'll just put a shortcut to that on my desktop, it would be a lot easier than reinstalling the driver every day.

How do I do that? I know it doesn't appear if I go to start>All Programs>Dell.

thanks very much for your help! I'll see what happens when I reboot, and hit that executable.
