ExpressCard and MoGo mouse

I have an Inspiron E1705 with an ExpressCard slot (54mm). I bought the MoGo X54 which slid right into the slot, but never seemed to make contact and didn't charge. I called Mogo, and they said the power had to be turned on to the ExpressCard slot. I called Dell, and they said the ExpressCard would automatically detect the mouse and did not need any extra power. Is this correct and I just got a mouse that was dead on its own?

Thanks for any advice.

No the expresscard slot does not need any other power source.I have tried to help another user with the mogo expresscard mouse, and it seems that the part of the mouse that fits into the slot will not allow it to make contact(too wide). Not sure if this is/was a problem with the design though.
