HD 550v Driver

I have the N5010. I  updated my drivers to the latest available on the dell support/drivers page, but the latest driver for HD 550v is dated june 2010.
All the games I play keep telling me the graphics driver is out of date.
I have searched for one newer but cannot find one.
I have tried AMD Driver auto detect and it has said to install  "mobility Radeon 4xxx series" I am guessing it is thinking I have the HD4650 as that is the chip the 550v is based on.
What I want to know is if I install this driver instead is it ok? Will is work ok or will it damage anything?
Or is there a later 550v driver i am just not seeing?

Hi! I had a laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 540v, which is pretty much the same chip as yours except for configuration (shading units count/etc). Basically, it's a direct re-brand of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000 Series (your GPU is something similar to Mobility HD 4650, mine is closer to Mobility HD 4550). In my practice it was getting along quite well with both Windows 7 and Windows 8/2012. However, it passed out on August of 2012, so I haven't been putting my hands on it for a long time now.

Speaking of drivers... AMD provides HD 550v owners with AMD Catalyst Legacy 13.9 package, which is pretty fresh and has everything that regular Desktop 13.9 and Mobility 13.9 come with. If you're using Windows 7 (I assume it's 64-bit edition), you can just download this package directly from AMD.com (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064).

However, if you're using Windows 8.1, you literally have no choice but to downgrade to either Windows 8 or Windows 7, because you won't be able to make your GPU work: it has no WDDM 1.3 compatible driver to meet the hardware requirements, so yeah...
