Insperion 1525 shutting off
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my Insperion 1525 just shuts off. I thought that it was over heating so I have a cooling pad under it. It will shut off sometimes 2 or 3 times a night, then last night while I was running the virus scan it stayed on all night. Any ideas as to what causes this?

It might be possible that you are on a power saver mode that whenever you leave your laptop open it will automatically close. Search "Power Options" on your Windows search bar.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that s not it. It will cut off in the middle of use, the screen will just go black then it shuts off.

Sounds like the fail safe cutting in if the laptop was overheating. Can happen if dust is clopping up the in-out grills and or if there is a graphics chip overheating.

You could install the above utilities and they will check the temps of your gpu and cpu.
If the temps look good then at least that can be ruled out.
