Inspirion 1525 boots sometimes but less and less as time goes on!

I have a Inspirion 1525 that boots when it gets a wild whim!  Most of the time when I press the power button the 3 indicator lights next to the power button all light up at once then the middle one starts flashing, no video and it keeps going until I power off by holding the power button for 5 seconds or so. Every once in a great while it will boot up!!  and work ok for a bit then gets the dreaded blue screen and locks up then it goes back to the 3 lights with one flashing.  Should I use it for a door-stop or can it be saved?
