Inspiron 157548 - Won't boot first time
Hi, problem started about three weeks ago. If you press the start button, the power button light switches on with the light just below the mouse pad. The mouse pad light then goes out and the power button light stays on but nothing happens. if you hold the power button to switch off, then attempt again it worked fine.
Then last week it became 5 attempts, now its 9.
The system works fine once it has booted, and has been able to restart without a problem. Temperature doesn't seem to make any difference.
Has anyone experience this and is there a known fix/problem?
Thanks :)

Comes up with a clean bill of health on the normal pass. Then when I exit diagnostics to reboot to windows...It takes 9 attempts again.

Diagnostics came back clean on the basic run. I then exited to reboot and same problem....9 attempts to reboot.

Yes, they are -- try parts-people.com. The cost will be somewhere between $250-400 depending on the CPU you have (or want), plus labor to install if you don't do it yourself.
