Inspiron 8200 - ATI Mobility 9000 & 2005FP

I just got the 2005FP and am trying to use it with my Inspiron 8200 w/Radeon 9000. I cannot get it to run the wide screen resolutions. I tried loading the latest Dell driver and get an error. I also loaded the 2005 driver. No go.

Any ideas??

You may want to try the drivers from ATI and use the mod tool from here. http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

I use the 5.6 drivers in my work I8200 and they work great. The only thing is I don't know if the I8200 will run wide screen, I have only used it on regular CRT's and LCD's.

I have emailed the admin on that site to ask if he knows.

Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know of a vid card that I could buy for my 8200 that would work with this monitor if this doesn't fix it??

Using the newest ATI driver and this hack made it work. I love this monitor!!
