Inspiron 9400 - USB Data Stick & USB Wireless Mouse problems??

Hi,

Got a new Laptop on Monday with VISTA and really pleased with it, however, when I plug in a USB stick - the system obviously recognises I have done so and immediately flags up a notice in a window about finding the appropriate drivers - but when I try to access the data stick drive, I cannot find it?  I look into the My Computer folder and it is not identified at all?

Also, when I plug in a USB wireless mouse  it doesn't work??  I have tried rebooting with the wireless mouse alread plugged in, but same problem.  I have also been in to control panel and selected the 'disable touch pad when a USB mouse is plugged in' option - but still nothing?

Am I not doing something thats really obvious??

Many thanks all,

a.

in XP USB storage can be funny, not sure about VISTA, but some times ya have to refresh the drive display in explorer.

the mouse issue, it might need a specific drive. Go to the malers website and look for a VISTA driver. Same for the memory stick issue. Some times vendors do not stick to the rules and make things that need there specific driver.
