Inspiron N5030 Touchpad Problem

I need to find out how to disable the touch pad for my Inspiron N5030.  The problem is that it does NOT show up as any listed hardware device, so it can't be shut off.  I can find nothing on here that shows that it even exists, and the hot key for it doesn't work either.  It is causing massive problems for me in when I type it keeps moving the cursor to different parts of the sentence/screen constantly.  I have googled the problem and have asked several different techie friends for help and nobody can find the touch pad in order to disable it.

If I can't get this shut off I will have to buy a new one (not a Dell again).

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi jboehm777,

Please install the Touchpad driver from the below link.

You can open the Alps touchpad settings from control panel and disable the touchpad. (Please refer to the attached picture)

THANK YOU!!!  So far so good.  I was able to reinstall it and disable it.  Hopefully that was the cause of all the headaches and I'll be ok now.
