Inspiron N5040 problems
I'm having a couple of problems with my Inspiron I'm hoping someone might be able to help with. They've both started around the same time so I'm guessing they are linked (but maybe not!)
The first is that the internet has started running very slowly, and I often get pages saying that they are 'not responding'
The second is the laptop has started turning itself off without any warning. There doesn't seem to be anything specific triggering this and it starts up again as normal if I turn it back on.
I've run some of the diagnostic tests on the Dell website and nothing has come up on them. I only got it at Christmas so it's not very old!

Turning itself off is overheating due to pet hair and dust clogging the inside.

Hi,
Here’s what you can try.
Please run the Fixit:
Then reset the Internet Explorer settings,
Alternately, check the computer in Safe Mode with Networking,
I will suggest you to clean the air vents and update the system BIOS for your second computer.
Below are the steps to clean the air vents:
Note: Please use compressed air can. When using compressed air can, use the can according to the directions on the side of the can as you can cause damage to the computer if used incorrectly.
Then update the BIOS,
Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that:
*Battery is 10%> or >10% charged
*Battery charger should be connected
*No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
*All other programs should be closed and documents saved
Please reply if you have any questions.
