Laptop Battery

I just got a new Inspiron15R. I use it mainly at my desk and I am concerned about the battery power. Should I keep it plugged in constantly, maybe take the battery out? Or do I run it til the battery gets low and then plug it in? I've been plugging and unplugging but sometimes I forget to unplug it again.My last laptop was a HP and the battery died within a year!  Batteries are expensive and  don't want the same thing to happen with this one.

Thank you for any help with this issue.

Hi Patty,

When the AC adapter is connected to the system, the battery will automatically stop discharging and system will be using power from the AC adapter. Once the battery is fully (100%) charged, the power supply to the battery will automatically be disconnected and the battery won’t overcharge.
