Laptop screen going bad

Two question!  The screen on my laptop (Inspiron 6000) fades out or does not come up.  The only way I can get it to work is push on the screen on the top and left hand side of the screen.  I'm now have a clap that works well.  I have other laptops, how can I plug into one of them to test my screen.  

The other question does anyone know were I can buy a new screen?  Thanks Danm
