Latitude 5280, Bios 1.3.3, Disabled TPM

Hi

I flashed a Latitude 5280 with Bios 1.3.3 - rebooted and then went to Bitlocker the drive only to discover the TPM option was no longer available. I pulled another 5280 out of stock - exact same machine but Bios 1.1.1 and the TPM option is there. I tried to downgrade the bios but is was blocked - anybody else getting this problem?

We will have to see the results of other users, but, I see two threads (Latitude E7470 & Latitude 5280) who went to the latest BIOS and now TPM is not available. Attempting to downgrade a BIOS is always risky as it could "brick" the motherboard CMOS if it fails. For now, all we can do on the Forum is gather the system models, BIOS number, and usernames and track it.

Thanks Chris.

But I think this is a hardware issue - I have flashed the BIOS of 9 Latitude 5280 to 1.3.3 and TPM is still available.

I suspect TPM was not available when I booted it up, but never noticed until after flashing.

Agreed. If nine other Latitude 5280 were flashed to 1.3.3 and TPM WAS available, then the 1.3.3 BIOS is ok. The issues are with that one Latitude 5280.
