Latitude D620 - low audio output - Windows XP

Hi,

I clean a little bit my PC and now I have a very low audio output even with maximum setting.

How to recover a normal sound?

Thanks by advance for your help

Try using System Restore to get the Registry back to a time before you made the changes. Go to

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

and tick 'Restore my computer to an earlier time'.

Thanks Jim

I can't restore my System.
I made a dx diagnostic and in fact. The answer is :

"Your audio card does not take in charge the setting of the hardware buffer memory. The sounds will only be read from the softwares buffer memories"

May be, I can activate the hardware buffer memory somewhere but where?

The only setting I can think of is the one in Dx diagnostic. Go to the Sound tab and move the slider on "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" to Full Acceleration.

Other than that I suggest you reinstall the Sigmatel audio driver, but before installing it go to the "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and remove the current Sigmatel if it is there in the list of programs and restart the computer. Then when you install a new driver the driver's configuration should return to their default settings.
