Latitude E6400 integrated webcam - Windows 7 driver wanted
Hi!
Any chance of obtaining driver for integrated Creative webcam?
Windows 7, 64-bit. Webcam does not appear in devices list.
There are plenty of similar topics raised in last 2 years with no obvious solution solution. For instance:

Chpset and BIOS up to date, XP/Vista drivers dont' work.
Webcam drivers from Creative Labs site don't work either.
Link to "Installing Dell Webcam Central" (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/w/laptop/installing-dell-webcam-central.aspx) which appears in Laptop Wiki search and other support searches leads nowhere.
Even found on Dell ftp site and then installed Webcam Cantral does not detect the device.
WHY SHOULD I USE EXTERNAL WEBCAM ON MY LAPTOP, WHILE THERE IS AN INTEGRATED ONE PHYSICALLY PRESENTED IN THE ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION?

Hi KYTY3OB,
Welcome to the Community,
Try this thread from our Rockstar Rick and see if it helps.
en.community.dell.com/.../19436592.aspx
I suggest you to run the Webcam Diagnostics given in the thread and see if you get any error message.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank You
Roshan.

KYTY3OB,
If you can answer the questions below, it will give me an idea of what the issue is with your webcam.
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the drivers i the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Try reading...
Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software
Also try running the Webcam Diagnostics
Did the webcam show in the symptom tree?
Any error messages?
Is the computer under warranty?

Sometimes I feel like the response doesn't even address the question. The OP is obviously asking for a driver.

traxem,
Replying to an old post, things can change. Here is the new information...
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software
You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.
Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam
If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support
