My laptop screen does not show images :(

Hi I got a DELL XPS L502X on my birthday 2 weeks ago, it has been working real awesome but  couple of  days ago suddenly it just does not show any images, the screen just goes kinda blue.I know it is on since every time I turn it on the windows display comes on the screen, then it just goes blank. The funny thing is that I can see the mouse cursor and I can move it everywhere around the screen.  I am not sure if it is a screen brightness problem or what, please somebody help me.
