Essentially I'd like to know if the screen is salvageable or whether I will need to replace it? The inverter cable is being diagnosed as non-detected, hence I am hoping I can just replace this and the screen will function again. Although it was starting up with 6 or 8 beeps (I cannot recall), I cannot get it to reproduce - even when disconnected from the external monitor. Can anyone advise? thanks,

If your system is still under warranty call Tech support if not =>
try reseating cables that connect the screen to the mainboard - "scary" stuff depending on your skills....
watch scenes at 4:06 and 4:50
watch scene 3:06 which shows you the display cable connected to the mainboard
