Problem with the AC power mode / XPS 1210

Hi,

Have following problem since today. Once I plug in the power adapter into my XPS 1210 notebook is not reacting. Means it works in the battery mode and does not switch to AC mode. The funny thing is that the light on the power adapter is lighting solid green, so  I assume the adapter is fine.

I have checked another power adapter belonging to my friend who has the same laptop - no change obeserved. The laptop is not reacting.

What can be the problem ? I hope the mainboard is not down as the warranty went to the end this year in April.

Thanks.
Gillean

90 days or the balance of the original system warranty, whichever is longer.

mainboard was replaced in 08/2008 due to overhaeting issue.  I know that the one I got was refubished. Do I have new warranty for this ?

Sounds like a power jack issue, which means either a relatively expensive jack replacement or a replacement mainboard.
