STUDIO 1558 SHOWS ''PLUGGED IN, CHARGING'' BUT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY.
Helo,
The problem started after i used another charger to power my laptop. Now, with its original charger, the system does not charge the battery even though it shows and indicates that it is charging. I just got a new battery and that did not solve the problem.
My problem seems different from other charging-related issues here, please help.

Does the system BIOS report the adapter, or is it listed as unknown? F2 at powerup.

yes, it is listed (as 90W). I tested other compatible chargers & i still had thesame thing!

Hi, I had similar problem, after researching I tried this with an added fix, shut down pc, unplug power cord and battery, (added>>cleaned metal battery terminals with soft nail file not a metal one) , wait about 30 seconds then hold the power button for 30 seconds, then reconnect everything, mine started charging... good luck
