Service Tag
I am selling my ole Dell Inspiron 1545 as spares or repair and someone is asking for the service tag number, which I have. I don't understand why they would what this number, can anyone advise if i should give the number or not.

It's just the serial number for the system. There is nothing nefarious they can do with the Service Tag. They probably just want it to look up the system specs on support.dell.com. Go there yourself to see what they will see if they look it up.
