Static from microphone - Dell Inspiron 15R
Whenever I'm using my microphone, there is a large amount of static that is heard either through Skype or when I am using it to record something. I was wondering how this can be fixed. Thanks.

Hi,
The static could be the cause of the microphone sensitivity being too high.
Click on Start>Control Panel
Change the 'View by' on the top right hand corner to 'Small icons'
Then look out for IDT Control Panel.
Once opened click on recording and reduce the 'Microphone Boost' to 0db.
It should be 'Microphone Array' and 'settings'. Refer to the image below.

Thanks for the solution but, it doesn't seem to work. Any other solutions?

Go to Programs and Features, uninstall IDT Audio, restart the system and then use the Sound recorder in windows , check if there is static now...
