Upgraded video card doesn't work - Dell Inspiron 8600

Hi, I've been trying to upgrade my video card from a 64mb nVidia GeForce FX5200 to a 128mb nVidia Quadro FX Go1000 (which I got off ebay) on my Inspiron 8600, and it doesn't seem to work when installed and laptop is turned on. All I pratically get is a white screen and that's it. When put in my old video card, everything works fine. Are there any special requirements for this type of card? This is the second card I have tried, the first was a Quadro FX Go700 off ebay, but I sent it back thinking it was faulty, but seller tested it and said it worked fine. I have had both the same results with these cards. Is there any body who can help me out?

Inspiron 8600
CPU: Intel Pentium M 1.40ghz
RAM: 2048mb
OS: No OS installed, as I have upgraded my hard drive.

Neither of those cards ever shipped with the 8600 system - has the seller certified that they will work in this model?

Yes, said it was for Inspiron 8600, Latitude D800, & Precision M60, I've also done searches over the net, and people have been listing them for i8600. Was thinking before, could it be my inverter that's doing this? Mind you it's working with my other card.

No, the inverter is part of the screen assembly.

I have a question for you.  I also need to ungrade my video card.  When placing a order for it I was told I can only upgrade to 64MB.  I have the inspiron 8600.  I purchased the Nvidia GeForce 4200 go but I do not know how to install the card.  Can you help me?  What do I do first?
