XPS 9530 Questions

I just bought the 9530.  Its been sitting at Processing for 5 days now.  Pretty slow IMO but I have a few questions while I wait.

1.) I am looking for a Screen Protector for it, one that attaches to the screen, not like the lame 3M solution which puts slides on the side of the screen.  Prefer privacy but not necessary.

2.) I use my laptops to control telescopes in the field using a 100Ahr Deep Cycle battery using PWRPLUS+ DC Car adapters.  With my Acer, if I plug it into the laptop the lights blinks and tells me its no longer power connected.  In order to get it working ONLY off a battery, no DC to AC inverter or alternator, I have to remove the battery and directly power off the Deep Cycle. The problem with the 9530 is that its internal.  Sure its an FRU but to remove the case to just remove the battery is a bit of a <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU> .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
