XPS M1330 went dead, please advice

My XPS M1330 was running but it went dead.  I changed the power supply cord, and still nothing happened.

Have you seen this kind of problem?  Please advice on what I can do and what may have done wrong.  Thank you.

Two other things:

Verify that the AC adapter is OK (LED ON).  If it's not, replace the adapter.

Try without the battery.  If it'll power up, replace the battery with a new one.

Failing that, the mainboard is bad - if you're under warranty, call Dell. If not, it'sa  $400-500 repair bill you'll be facing - and likely without coverage for an additional year on the known-faulty nVidia chip (if you have nVidia video).  If you do, you may be better off replacing the system rather than repairing it with a new mainboard.
