XPS m1530 & Connecting External Monitor

When connecting an external monitor on my XPS m1530 and setting both the LCD and CRT monitor on via the FN + F8 toggle keys I noticed that the image on my laptop seems "stretched."

Is this normal?

Try opening the NVIDIA control panel and "play" with the Multiple Displays settings - you can configure them independently which may help.

http://www.binaryfortress.com/displayfusion/ has a utility that will help you apply different desktop photos on each display and may have other features that can help you.

I assume you're using VGA out for the CRT. I'm using the HDMI port feeding a second LCD display and this all works well.

Good Luck.
