Xps 15 9650 Wifi network only gets acquired after a long time

Hello,

on my new Xps 15 9650, for some reason when I boot the wifi network is very long to be aquired.

I can wait like 2 minutes for it to be finally found.

Though when I select the network myselt (which is configured in auto just fine), it gets connected normaly (as in quickly).

I do not want to reconnect manually each time i use it.

What can I do ?

Hello thnk you for your answers.

The problem happened to be a windows 10 parameters.

You have to allow "Turn on network discovery"

I'd suggest you run the 'Guide Me' option in your Dell Product Support page. It will automatically detect driver updates for your system. Please follow instructions to run Guide Me option in Dell video below:

Win 10 has those options to look for and connect to Hot Spots.  Those are some of the options I turn off since I don't use Hot Spots.

But the system may be searching for something or negotiating some setting.  Are the several available networks in your area?  Do you have other systems competing for the same wireless?

You can select the connection and see how it is configured, but if it connects immediately those are probably OK.

You are running a private network and it is not showing as Public?

It always asks you to turn on network discovery if you are on a Public network, hence the reason for my comment earlier.

Make sure you did not turn on Network Discovery for a Public network.
