Hi notqawhiz,

7 Beeps on Inspiron M5030 inidcates a processor failure.

We need to replace the processor. If the computer has an active warranty, kindly private message the service tag so that I can take the case forward.

To send me a Private Message, click my User name, and then click Start Conversation.

Check warranty status: http://dell.to/10pMa86

If the computer is out of warranty, contact Dell expired warranty services for compatible part replacement:

Refer the following link for processor replacement:

From the above link click   Manual and Documentation and Service manual to access Processor reseat/remove section.

Before Opening the chassis, I recommend you to remove the battery and disconnect the adapter, press and hold the power button for few seconds and release to drain the flea power.

** NOTE: Please ensure that the power cable of the computer is disconnected before opening the chassis. Refer to the Service Manual for assistance on removing or replacing the internal components of the computer.

Awaiting your response!
