how to switch on the web cam in dell inspiron R5520

while updating driver software it give a response code 10, what it means

Hi rajareddy2,

Please share the operating system installed. Also, check if the web cam is getting detected in Device Manager also if there is any yellow bang appearing against it. Here are the steps:

  • Press the key combination Windows Logo key + R key to open Run dialog box.
  • Type in devmgmt.msc and click OK.
  • The Device Manager windows will appear.
  • Click on the sign next to Imaging Devices and expand it. Check if web cam is listed there.

Also, you may try installing the Dell Webcam Central Application from the link http://dell.to/14USs6C. Also you may refer to link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943104 for more detailed information on Error Code 10. Hope this helps.

against the web cam Yellow bang is appearing, even after updating also it will shows the same

my OS is Windows8,

will u pls give me the suggestions

Hi rajareddy2,

Please perform following steps to uninstall webcam from the system.

  • Press the key combination Windows Logo key + R key to open Run dialog box.
  • Type in devmgmt.msc and click OK.
  • The Device Manager windows will appear.
  • Click on the sign next to Imaging Devices and expand it.
  • Right click on the webcam and click on uninstall.

 

Please uninstall all the USB root hubs on your system using the steps given below:

  1. Press the key combination Windows Logo key + R key to open Run dialog box.
  2. Type in devmgmt.msc and click OK.
  3. The Device Manager windows will appear.
  4. Select the plus sign icon to the left of the Universal Serial Bus controllers' option to make all of the root hubs and controllers visible.
  5. Right-click on the option “USB Root Hub” and then left click on “Uninstall”.
  6. Repeat step 5 for all the options which say “USB Root Hub”.
  7. Restart your system.

Restart the system and check if you are facing issue.
