latitude d610 not booting up

My latitude d610 boots up thru the windows xp page. When that page disappears the screen goes blank. The power light is on, the caps lock light is on, and the wifi light is blinking..  I have rebooted multiple times, removed both batteries and reseeded the memory underneath the computer. What could the problem be?
