through HDMI tv connecting not wroking in windows vista home basic Dell Inspiron 1525

Do you have an HDMI port on your computer? I'm not sure if Vista Home Basic supports HDMI or not. I know it works flawlessly with Windows 7 64 bit.

Windows Vista Home Basic has a flaw that prevents the default from switching automatically to HDMI. I remembered this from my PS3 which has the exact same fault.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Click Start
   
   , and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound.
3. Under Sound, click Manage audio devices.
4. Click the playback device from which you want to output sound.
5. Click Set Default, and then click OK.

I tried the same but it doesn't work.
