I would recommend PP as the load balancing is more intelligent than that of MPIO.
According to the release notes for PP 5.7 page 15.
Note: PowerPath can coexist with third-party path management software such as Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager (HDLM), IBM Subsystem Device Driver (SDD), HP StorageWorks Secure Path or HP StorageWorks AutoPath XP Virtual Array; however, PowerPath cannot co-manage devices with third-party path management software. It is possible to have these packages installed on the host alongside PowerPath but you must unmanage the appropriate device class in PowerPath in order to have devices managed by these third-party products.

Hello Patrik,
I would recommend PP as the load balancing is more intelligent than that of MPIO.
According to the release notes for PP 5.7 page 15.

I hope this answers your question.
