Adding second internal hard drive to Inspiron 3880
Hi - I am trying to install my old hard drive from my Dell computer as a second in my new Inspiron 3880. It is the same type - my question is i know to attach the second drive to the cable going to the first drive but do i need an additional blue cable to drive power and if so where would it connect to the motherboard? Thank you

only 1 spot for a drive adding another is not an option.
use a dock for the other drive

I'm sorry. My statement may have been confusing. When I said I added a second hard drive, I was counting the original 256GB solid state device (C:) as the first drive. I added one SK hynix Gold S31 1TB 3D NAND 2.5 inch SATA III Internal SSD. The bracket I used would work for one HDD or for two SSDs. Both drive types use the exact same SATA power cable and SATA data cable. I hope this answers your question.

If you don't already have a solution, please let me know. I added a second hard drive to my new 3880 and it was very simple.

Did you put in a sec ond HDD drive or one HDD and one SD?
I was told I would not be able to add a second HDD drive!
