Connecting P2419H monitor to Inspiron 3847 tower
Instructions with my new P2419H Monitor says to connect the new USB cable from USB upstream 3.0 port on monitor to a 3.0 USB port on Inspiron 3847. I did so & it doesn't work.
Then I plugged it into one of the 2.0 USB ports on the back of the PC and it works.
Why is that and am I not getting as much speed as I should by using the 2.0 port?
Are the 3.0 & 2.0 USB ports on the back of the PC upstream or downstream & does it matter?

USB3 requires drivers and USB3 ports.
The USB3 drivers are not native to windows and frequently become broken with windows feature updates.
Below is the information about the USB ports,
Front
2 x USB 2.0 connectors
Back
4 x USB 2.0 connectors
2 x USB 3.0 connectors WITH THE SS LOGO
USB3 Logo
Only the lower 2 are USB3.
