Inspiron 3670, PSU upgrade

Wanted to move my GTX 1060 from my 8 year old i5 PC to my new Inspiron 3670 and realized that Dell mounted the power supply upside down, what the  .This has to be the worst designed PC I've ever seen. I need to cut the case or drill new mount holes or leave my power supply outside of my Inspiron 3670 to get it to run. It's screaming now but my power supply is outside of my PC. Kind of crazy 30 year old company wouldn't know that you mount a power supply the other way.

Problem by mounting the power supply upside down, you can only add small cheap power supplies.  Any good power supply has a nice fan on the top to cool the system, but mounting it upside down the Dell way puts the fan against the metal bottom of the case.  Doh!

I always used to buy Dells add the things I wanted and use them for years but these new computers are   designed for knows what. I think that's why people buy PCs over macs easy to fix, upgrade etc.

Don't put a great i7 cpu in these boxes and not allow people to upgrade them. These should have low end processors. It's a Ferrari with bicycle tires, fast engine that can't drive more than 15 mph.

Any one else have any other ideas or find good power supply that works in this box make model numbers?  (I probably need a good 400 watt minimum, tried a 400 watt one but it was junk, running a 500 watt evga that's working great outside the PC). Or any good cases that this motherboard fits in? Is this a standard motherboard?

No, it's not standard - retrofitting it into a third-party case is anything but straightforward.

These are computing appliances - they're designed to be cheap to build so they can sell inexpensively.  They are decidedly not built with upgradeability in mind.
