Inspiron 5675, Ryzen 1700X - Unstable
There is a known issue with some Ryzen processors where running heavy loads, specifically builds under Linux, results in segmentation fault failures.
There's a huge thread over at AMD forum concerning this issue: https://community.amd.com/thread/215773
It seems that my machine is affected by this problem as well. I wonder how am I supposed to deal with it? Do I have to open a ticket with Dell (the PC was imported to Israel), or should I contact AMD?

Yes, I know that AMD is replacing the bad processors. But since this is a pre-built system, and not one I assembled myself, am I still the one who has to take the CPU out and RMA it with AMD or is Dell supposed to do this?

The CPU is OEM so AMD won't replace it. You can see Dell's statement when I reported the same problem with my computer.

I ended up buying a replacement CPU.

Well, that's pretty lame.
I talked to Dell support, they said I should call the Israeli division. I'll give that a go next week and see what happens. I'm not expecting much, though. I don't even think they sell this model locally, so they may not even have the spare parts even if they agreed to replace the chip.
