Inspiron 5676, Corsair PSU upgrade?
Does anyone know if the Inspiron 5676 takes the corsair CX600 v2, which i currently already own, or is it only the CX600? or is there literally no difference between the v2 and regular. But what i have noticed is that the Corsair CX600 V2 i own only has 23 of 24 pins. Excuse my ignorance i’m fairly new to PCs.

Check the connector again. 24 pins is standard and what Corsair lists for this power supply.
Dell power supplies do not have a power on/off switch and no cut out for the switch. Also the mounting screws are not on the rear panel like standard ATX. Thus a non-Dell power supply probably is not a good idea.

CX600 is insufficient. You need an EPS 12V power supply that provides 146 to 225W on the 3.3v/5v rails.
CX600 CX650 CX700 only have 90 to 120W on those rails.
Even Dell 305W power supplies have 150W combined on these rails. An EVGA 700B1 or 750B1 would work fine.

The B3 BT BR BQ models from the same vendor WILL NOT work properly for the same reason.
150W on 3.3v / 5v rails
130W IS NOT ENOUGH

I swapped in a Corsair cx850m in mine. I had to slightly mod the case to make it fit and Only two screws hold it in place. But it's in and working fine.
