I have a stock Inspiron 24 5475 with 8gb of RAM and I want to upgrade to 32 GB. I have been browsing on Amazon and I found Samsung 16GB DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666MHZ, 260 PIN SODIMM, 1.2V, CL 19 laptop ram memory module for a reasonable price. According to Amazon, this is compatible with mi PC. The only thing that worries me is that this memory cards are 2666MHZ and apparently the computer runs at 2400.
Would they still work? Would they just be limited to 2400mhz and otherwise work fine? or could they not work at all? All these small differences drive me crazy :S
Samsung RAM should work as Dell has used Samsung in their systems in the past. And yes it will run at 2400 but the speed difference from 2400 to 2666 is negligible. Also Amazon has a great return policy if the RAM does not work but I see no problem. The most compatible for Dell as far as RAM is concerned though is Crucial. And you can find that here.
