SupportAssist Installer Installation Failed

I have a new Inspiron 3891, running windows 11.

SupportAssistant stopped working, after using it a couple of times. Rightly or wrongly I uninstalled it using Revo uninstall.

Trying to download it again, SupportAssist Installer downloads and runs to 100%, then get message `We were unable to complete the installation. Please reboot your PC and try again.` I have tried this 4 times but get the same result.

Any advice would be welcomed in how i overcome this problem.

Ron,

The solution that worked for me was,

Downloaded and ran Revo Uninstall to uninstall SupportAssist.

Then followed the following from Dell care:-

Ensured the following folders had been deleted, or delete them

C:/ Program Data / PCDR

C:/ Program Data/Supportassist

C:/ Program Data/ Dell/Dell data vault

C:/ Program Files/Dell/Supportassist

C: Program Files/Dell/Dell data vault

C:/ windows/Temp (everything inside the folder) However I found that a number of items would not delete, so moved on.

Open Edit Registry,

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services Key

Delete Dell hardware service,Delete Dell client management service, delete Dell updates.

open device manager > system devices: you will see 2 Dell data vault devices, uninstall the second one (bottom one)

Reboot

Install SupportAssist

SupportAssist then installed and could be run.
