is my motherboard Intel Optane ready?

HI guys! this is my first post! So recently i bought a Dell Inspiron 3880. It has an i3-10100 and 8gb ram. It doesn't come with intel optane but has a slot for it. the motherboard is this model: 

BaseBoard Product 05GD68

will i need to update my bios?

Sounds like you're using a HDD, not an SSD...

You may have to reinstall Win 10 and all your apps after installing an Optane module.

Would you be better off installing a PCIe NVME SSD in that slot? You could clone the existing HDD onto the SSD (no reinstall required) and then initialize the HDD (ALL FILES DELETED!) to make the SSD the boot drive so you can use the HDD for storage.

Here are some compatible SSDs, Samsung and others probably have compatible drives too.
