3581

May I know if it's possible to change the clockspeed of ram in bios setup of Dell Inspiron 3581. I installed two 8gb RAM 2400mhz in my laptop but the reflected mhz in system.is 2133mhz only. Can someone give a step by step procedure in doing this. Thank you.

You won't find it capable of doing much in the gaming realm -- it's pretty much what you'd expect of an entry-level, $300-350 system.

Thank you sir, I'm just wondering why they put 2133-2400mhz of upgradable ram. Therefore, I installed the 2400 mhz but surprisingly it still running on 2133 mhz only.

It is not - the system automatically sets the RAM speed (more correctly, the processor does -- the memory controller is aboard the processor).  Even with faster RAM, if the CPU supports 2133, that's as fast as RAM will run.

The RAM speed is CPU-dependent. Chances are there's a faster CPU for your system than what you have, which supports 2400 MHz RAM (no, you can't upgrade the CPU).

Thank you very much sir. Seems that this laptop brings too much surprises. Do you also have ideas if we can use this in playing pc games. Can you give examples of games ot can run smoothly?
