7559 blinking pattern
My laptop screen went black. I rebooted the system and now it seems that it doesn't post. There are blinking lights in the power led status, it is flashing 2 oranges (amber) and 4 white lights. Does anyone have a blinking pattern chart? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Lfpalmeira,
Below is the diagnostic LED patterns and what they mean. If you have the 2,4 you have memory failure. Try reseatting the memory. Below is the online manual for your system. It provides information for removing/replacing hardware in your computer.
Dell Inspiron 7559 Drivers, Downloads and Manuals
LED Codes
The LED Code devises a unique blinking pattern in two groups to indicate the error on the system. The first group (Amber color) of LED blinks (1 through 9) followed by a brief pause, and then a second group (White color) of LED blinks (1 through 9) with a longer pause before repeating over again.

Replace the reserve (CMOS) battery.
Look under Coin Cell battery in the service manual, here:

As per the chart that is a CMOS battery failure. The battery is fairly simple to replace (CR2032 battery type).

Unplug system; disconnect battery. Hold the power button for 30 sec.
Remove and reinstall both modules. Try again. If you still get the same error/no bootup, try one module at a time in each socket. If one module fails in both sockets, replace it with a new one. If both modules fail in the same socket, it's the socket that's bad; replace the mainboard.
If you get a memory failure with two modules together, odds are it's the system board that's bad.

Hi Westmb,
Thanks for posting. Apologies that your Inspiron 7559 is not performing as expected.
As per the above chart a 2,4 blinking pattern indicates that there is a problem with the RAM. If you have performed the steps described earlier and still are having issues, then the RAM would need to be replaced.
If the system is under warranty, please contact me privately. Be sure to include your personal information (name, address, telephone, email) and your computer's service tag number in your message. Thanks.
If there is no warranty, then you could contact our Out of Warranty team to get a quote for a paid service call -http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Hi vvs8787,
Thank you for your message. The 3 -5 blinking patter could be an issue with the processor or the power from the motherboard.
Does the system show the Dell logo when you start the computer?
Disconnect the power cord, press & hold down the power button for 30 seconds & start the computer with just the battery & check if the light pattern is the same.
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
How to locate the service tag
